Lifecycle
- Carpet beetles enter houses to lay forty eggs, and be born one or two generations per year.
- The adults only live a week or two.
Habits
- The larvae curl on themselves when they are threatened. Their hairs can cause irritation to some people.
- The larvae are sometimes known as "woolly bears".
- Harmful frequent museums and houses. Adults feed outdoors often on Spiraea plants.
- The coupling takes place outdoors, after which the beetles fly to lay their eggs inside.
- It is often installed in the birds' nests.
